Board of Directors

Steven E. Collins, PresidentSteven E. Collins, President
Steven E. Collins has been the president of the board of Eastside Academy Inc. since its inception in April, 2009.  He is an attorney/professor who lives in Norman, Oklahoma.  Steven grew up in the city of Clinton, Oklahoma. He is the oldest of three siblings, Stephanie, H.B. III, and Jeffrey.  His parents, H.B. Jr. and Lillian, are still Clinton residents. Lillian Collins is the Executive Director of Eastside Academy Inc.

Steven graduated from Clinton High School in 1993 and attended the University of Oklahoma. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1999. He then attended the University Of Oklahoma School Of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate in 2002. 

Following law school, he worked for the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training as a staff attorney. However, his passion for teaching led him to his current job as Lead American Government Instructor at Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma City.  Steven was born a Sooner but now gets paid from the Cowboys! He feels that education is the way to a better life and that knowledge is power!

Stephanie L. Williams, Vice-PresidentStephanie L. Williams, Vice-President
Stephanie Williams has been an educator for 8 years. Stephanie started her teaching career in Oklahoma City at Taft Middle School. In 2005, she started teaching 8th Grade Math and Algebra I at Irving Middle School. Stephanie was also Irving Middle School's 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year. Stephanie is currently as Assistant Principal at Whittier Middle School.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Health and Sports Science from the University of Oklahoma in 2001 and completed her Master of Education in Education Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma. Stephanie is dedicated to promoting the education of today’s youth and closing the achievement gap. Eastside Academy Inc is a program that has been working towards that goal since its inception.

In addition to serving as Vice-President of the Board of Directors for Eastside, Mrs. Williams is also the founder and Executive Director of D.A.R.E. 2 H.O.P.E. It is a nonprofit mentoring program for African-American eighth grade students. Our mission is building academic success and student self-awareness through mentoring partnerships. Stephanie is married to Micheal Williams and has a step-daughter, Kari.

Helen Bennett, Secretary TreasurerHelen Bennett, Secretary Treasurer
Helen Bennett is an elementary teacher at Millwood Public Schools in Oklahoma City, OK. Helen received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Langston University. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Masters in Education. She is the 2010 Teacher of the Year for Millwood Schools. She is also a DIBELS coordinator for Millwood. Her teaching philosophy is that students have different learning styles. Some learn best in whole class instruction, while others learn best in small group instruction. Accommodating the different learning styles creates an environment that is conducive to learning. Helen is married to Tracy Bennett and they have one son, Michael Bennett, who is 8.

Doug MooreDoug Moore
Doug Moore has been involved with Eastside Academy since its inception as a committed volunteer. Doug joined the Eastside Academy Inc board in April of 2009. He graduated from Clinton High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University. He is a livestock broker. Doug and his wife Ann, have two children and three grandchildren. He attends First Baptist Church in Clinton, OK and continues to enjoy his volunteer work at Eastside.


Stephanie C. JonesStephanie C. Jones
Stephanie C. Jones is an attorney who lives in Clinton, Oklahoma. Stephanie is a 1990 graduate of Clinton High School. She went on to attend the University of Oklahoma where she received her Bachelors in Law Enforcement Administration (1994) and her Juris Doctorate (1998) from the University of Oklahoma.

During law school, Mrs. Jones was employed by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation as a Legal Intern. Upon graduating law school, Mrs. Jones relocated to Clinton and went into private practice as a sole practitioner in 1999. She then became a defense attorney with the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System (2000-2003). Then she was hired by District Attorney Dennis Smith and served as an Assistant District Attorney for District Two, serving primarily Custer and Washita Counties (2003-2008). In January of 2008, Mrs. Jones returned to private practice and joined the law firm of Randolph S. Meacham, P.C.

Stephanie is the City Prosecutor for the City of Clinton (1999-2000; 2003-Present); She also serves as a board member for the Oklahoma Board of Bar Examiners, Clinton Public School Foundation, Clinton Chamber of Commerce, and Clinton Kiwanis Club. Ms. Jones also is a member of the Washita/Custer County Drug Court and has served in that capacity since its inception in 2005. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mrs. Jones also served as member of the Custer County Domestic Violence Council and was responsible for the Domestic Violence Docket. Currently, Mrs. Jones practices primarily Family and Criminal law, and serves as an attorney for children who are involved in deprived cases and custody cases.

Stephanie is married to Chris Jones, Vice-President of Interbank in Clinton. They have three boys, Alex (8) Nate (6) and Vince (2). Stephanie’s mother, Linda Parker, currently serves as a volunteer at Eastside Academy and her children also attend the academy.

Eugene L. Jefferson
Eugene L. Jefferson is a Physical Education Teacher at Clinton Public Schools. He has also coached for 18 years. Mr. Jefferson received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He also received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Elementary Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He completed his Masters in Administration of Education, also from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He has been married to his wife, Urana for 21 years. They have five children: Eugene II (26), Justin (20), Brittany (17), Jevin (15), and Jessica (8). He has one grandchild, Carmella. Eugene enjoys sports, fixing up old houses, drawing and kids.

Dr. Tamala R. Mallett Moore, MDDr. Tamala R. Moore
Dr. Tamala R. Mallett Moore, MD is a Board Certified Family Practice Physician. She received her undergraduate degree at Mississippi Valley State University in Ittabena, MS. Dr. Moore received her medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, OH. She completed her internship and residency program in family medicine at Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, MI.

Dr. Moore is certified through the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Family Practice. She holds a Michigan State Medical License, Michigan Board of Pharmacy License, Basic Life Support License, Advanced Cardiac Life Support License, Pediatric Advanced Life Support License, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics License, Drug Enforcement Agency License, State of New York License of Medicine and Surgery, and State of Pennsylvania License of Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Moore was also appointed to the Board of Trustees to Navigator Academy at Grand Valley State University.

Dr. Moore is currently the primary physician at Weatherford Family Practice Medical Center in Weatherford, OK. She also volunteers her time at the Agape Free Clinic in Weatherford, OK.

In the past, Dr. Moore has worked as the Director of Risk Management at Cephalon, Inc., the Associate Medical Director of Global Pharmacovigilance and Epidemiology at Bristol-Meyers Squib Company, in the Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance Department at Purdue Pharma, a Family Physician at Inter-Care Community Health Network in Bangor, MI, and a Family Physician at Kalamazoo Family Health Center in Kalamazoo, MI.

Dr. Moore resides in Weatherford with her husband and daughter. She enjoys her involvement with her daughter’s activities, singing in the church choir, and vacationing.
